Governor Palin’s Shaky Foreign Policy Performance

At last night’s debate Governor Palin failed to distinguish Senator McCain’s foreign policy from the failed approach of George W. Bush. Like Bush and McCain, Palin could not enunciate a clear strategy and endgame for how to effectively end the Iraq War. Palin consistently failed to answer questions. She relied heavily on talking points and did not demonstrate that she has a deep understanding of the critical issues of national security.

Time for a New Approch Toward Iran

Today Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will speak before the U.N. General Assembly. For years Iran’s leader has brandished hate-filled language that fully deserves the world’s condemnation. But President Bush and his allies, like John McCain, have used this as an excuse to continue a failed approach based on hollow saber rattling that has done nothing to constrain Iran’s nuclear development and its growing regional influence.
