In this election year, American foreign policy-and domestic and international security concerns-are the top issues as voter's weigh their political decisions. Polls show growing public support for cooperative, diplomatic security strategies-and growing skepticism about the ability of military strength and unilateral decision-making to solve complex security problems. With such a unique political climate, the National Security Network aand Demos' US in the World Project collaborated on a project to gauge public opinion on national security and foreign policy issues.Using fifty-one in-depth interviews and extensive reviews of polling data, the findings explore how the American people form their views on America's role in the world--how best to both secure the country and exert American influence abroad.
